We invite you to discover the inspiring story of Iga, who tells in her own words about her experiences. Read how the reskilling process became a key step in her career, bringing significant changes to her life and opening up new opportunities.
Transformation from a travel enthusiast to an aviation safety expert
Each: Who among us has not dreamed of incredible travels, getting to know the world, other cultures and people? I think a lot of us. Even as a little girl, I always admired working in the aviation industry. Beautiful uniforms, amazing places and, of course, work in the air. Even then, I did not fully realize that it was something more, which would only be the beginning of my journey, in which the main goal would be to take care of the safety of others.
Recruitment and challenges on the road to an aviation career
Iga: It started traditionally, with recruitment. Even then, I saw the importance of safety. The first priority was not appearance or perfect knowledge of English, but how to properly take care of your safety and passengers' safety and their comfort. This first of all caught my attention. During one of the recruitment stages, our task was to take care of the comfort and safety of passengers after an emergency landing in the jungle. What should we do in such a situation, what we can use to take care of those affected and what solutions to find. Nothing complicated, but not quite. There were really a lot of ideas - some better, others a little less. Mine, however, probably attracted the attention of recruiters, because soon I received a call that my recruitment was successful, and they invite me to cooperate.
High Flight Training: Emphasis on Safety and Emergency Response
Iga: The whole process began with a two-month training, where the main emphasis was precisely on safety systems on the plane, emergency situations and how to deal with various situations, such as launching, fire on board, aggressive passenger or various medical cases. After passing all the exams and practical classes, I was finally able to fly as a member of the flight crew.

Safety Mission: The Role of Air Personnel in Protecting Passengers
Iga: As I have already mentioned, airlines pay very close attention to compliance with the rules and all safety rules. In my role as the person responsible for passenger safety, the most important objective was to monitor and ensure that procedures were followed to minimise the risk of injuries and accidents throughout the duration of the flight. However, experience shows that unfortunately it often happens that some people underestimate the importance of their own safety or the safety of others, using arguments such as “nothing will happen anyway” or “why are you doing all these procedures” or “exaggerating”. In fact, it turns out that in many situations maintaining high safety standards is crucial to protecting passengers, and a restrictive approach to compliance plays a vital role in avoiding potential hazards.
A new path: from airlines to the health and safety industry
Iga: I saw a growing need to engage in public awareness, conduct safety education, and change perspectives. In this context, I have an aspiration to influence these areas and the desire to prove that the term “safety” translates into quality of life. I decided to complete postgraduate studies in the field of OSH and look for a job in this industry. And it was W&W Consulting that gave me that opportunity. I won't say at first, I was a little stressed. But it quickly turned out to be unnecessary. This is where I found the space to realize and fulfill my professional mission. I was positively surprised by the wealth of opportunities that opened up for me in the context of achieving the goals. I have found that there are more people with a similar mission and commitment, which builds a strong and inspiring environment. In addition, I am pleased to be able to participate in various projects and face new challenges.

Summary: the path of a safe journey through professional evolution
Iga: Just as in my story, where taking care of safety became a mission, reskilling has become a key element of career management in the dynamic world of work. Being open to new skills, adapting to changes and being ready to learn and develop, become the foundation for a stable and rewarding career path. Modern workers, like pilots, must be ready to take on new challenges, always with a view to traveling safely through an area of the constantly changing professional world.
